"Jiji, we're going on vacation!" Kiki said excitedly to her cat, who merely rolled his eyes at the excited witch. "We're going to Spain. Isn't that exciting?" Kiki had never been out of her country, so this would be a new and exciting experience for her and for Jiji, whether he wanted to acknowledge it or not. But Kiki, do we really have to leave? Isn't Spain known for it's dangerous people and organized crime? Kiki rolled her eyes. He was always being a kill-joy, but he would go because she would force him to. Kiki had forced Jiji to come to Koriko with her and look how well that turned out for the both of them. --------------------------------------
"Look, we're here Jiji!" she nudged her messenger bag and Jij's head popped out. In the distance, she could see it from her broom. "Well, at least I think this is it. I followed the map." Kiki took out her map, which had the route she was taking and an 'x' on the country. Just on the country, no where specific. She also asked a few people along the way when she stopped to take breaks and sleep where she could. She was enjoying the adventure, on the other hand, Jiji was not. He had barely come out of her messenger bag the entire trip, leaving her to her own devices. He would change his mind when he saw how beautiful it was. About time. "Look how beautiful it is though!" It's alright. Jiji drawled before actually stepping out and taking his place at the front of the broom.
Not too long after, the two made it to land, and Kiki landed in the middle of the busy port city, getting the usual looks of amazement and confusion. Jiji climbed onto her shoulder and looked around. Now what? "Now we have an adventure!" Kiki said excitedly, walking around. Okay, but be careful. Jiji said, eyeing everyone about. "Oh, you worry much too much!" The young witch walked around casually with a broom in her hand and a black cat on her shoulder. People stared, probably thinking she was the one that they should be suspicious/worried about. One old lady even gave her a terrified look and mumbled something that Kiki couldn't make out. This is why I said we should have gone to Jamaica! Kiki stopped put a hand on her hip, contemplating what to do. If Tombo was here, he'd have loads of ideas.
Shaking her head, she walked further, getting out of the crowded port and into a less crowded area. Eventually, she walked so far off that she was the only person to be seen, or so she thought. "Jeez Jiji, it sure did get real quiet." Kiki continued to walk along No, this is flat out creepy, let's go home. A twig snapped behind them. Kiki turned around suddenly, but nothing was there. She figured it must be her imagination. It happened again a few minutes later, but this time when she turned, it was the old lady she saw before. "Hey hello miss-" Kiki started to say, but then sensed that something was very wrong. The old lady said some kind of weird chant and came closer to Kiki. Kiki, run! Jiji said, scrambling back into her bag. The scenery started to change and Kiki closed her eyes, afraid of what the old woman-witch- was doing. The woman had brought her back in time, to the 1500s. Kiki opened one eye, afraid of what she was going to see from the woman's magic. [/blockquote]

”I’m so sorry, gentlemen, but it seems that you’re out of money,” said Miguel with fake sympathy after the group of gamblers asked him for one more game. He tucked the last bit of the money into his pockets and flashed the crowd of gamblers a grin before wandering off whistling. This was a routine that he and Tulio had thought up at the beginning of their partnership: every once in awhile, they would be doing separate shifts; one person on the west side of the town and one person on the east side.
“Hold it right there! We asked you for one more game!” said one very large man from the back of the crowd. Miguel turned to look at the group, uncertainly, but before he was able to say anything in retort, everyone in the group began chasing after the con man, so he took off running. Unfortunately, he didn’t have Tulio to play off of and to distract the crowd, so he was running as fast as he could.
Miguel ducked down alleyways and through buildings in order to escape the angry mob. He passed through the busy marketplace and paused when he saw a young girl lying on the ground. Carefully, he picked her up in his arms, just in time for the crowd to catch up with him. “Guards!” he called out to the town guards,”These men attacked this young girl!”
The scene made the crowd look very guilty, so the guards rounded on them, giving Miguel the chance to take off running again. He stopped in an alleyway and rested the girl down on the ground against the wall. “Now, then. Are you alright?” he asked, squatting down next to her.

Before she could comprehend what was going on (and that the old lady had indeed not killed her), she was swept off her feet, literally. Kiki went from being on the ground, motionless, to being carried quickly away from something or someone. Kiki heard the voice of the person holding her. She'd been attacked? No, of course she hadn't. The man was lying, but she didn't know why. Summoning up some courage, she opened her eyes to an interesting scene unfolding in front of her. A large crowd of men wearing strange clothing and looking mad stood in front of her. Assuming the man holding her was the good guy in this situation and needed help, she whimpered a bit, making it seem like she was hurt. She could practically feel Jiji's eyes rolling from inside her bag, which was still around her body and hanging loosely close to the ground.
Guards came and started taking control of the madness, and the man holding her took that opportunity to run. He put her down a short time after, when they were away from everyone else. "Mm, yes. I think so." Kiki was still confused. The area looked the same...but...not. Jiji came out of the bag and went on her shoulder. What just happened? "I'm not sure." she looked up at the man. "Sir, where are we?" she asked the older gentleman politely. "And who are you?" It would probably be nice to know the person who was carrying her just seconds before. "And how did you get yourself in so much trouble?" The only kind of trouble Kiki knew was the kind she got in with Tombo, but it was never as serious as what was going on back at the marketplace. No, they just broke things or went places they weren't supposed to. They wouldn't even know how to get that many people angry at one time.
Kiki checked her inventory to make sure she wasn't missing anything. Jiji, check. Map, check. Bow, check. Broom...oh no her broom! "My broom!" she frantically looked all over for it. "I don't have my broom!" The last time she had it was...just before she was literally picked up in the marketplace. It must have been left there. "We must go back to the marketplace, sir! I left my broom there!" Kiki never stopped to think how silly that must have sounded to the man. She stood up and brushed herself off. Without her broom, she could be stuck in Spain!

”Ah, good, good,” he said, the concern slipping from his face. For the first time that he had met the young girl, Miguel took a real look at her. He rested his chin in his hands as he analyzed her. “You have some interesting garb there,” he said, lightly tapping the large pink bow on the top of her head.
He had only ever seen something like that on the upper class women and girls and occasionally even on…royalty? Hmm, interesting. The dress she was wearing, though…he’d never seen anything like it. It was actually a bit revealing compared to the dresses that most young girls wore around Spain.
“Why, you’re in grand Spain,” he said, spreading his arms out and motioning to the alleyway surrounding them. As much as Miguel enjoyed going on a nice adventure every so often, he certainly did love his home country and he counted himself a proud Spaniard. “I, my lady? Why, my name is Miguel,” he said, sweeping into a bow,”And whose company do I have the honor of keeping?”
Miguel’s charming grin slipped slightly when he heard the next question come out of the girl’s mouth. He contemplated telling her the truth, but he mentally heard Tulio’s voice in the back of his head, warning him to ‘lie low.’ “Oh, well…that’s not really important right now,” he said, waving her question on.
His eyebrows shot up, surprised at the girl’s distress over a broom. “Your broom? What-” he started, but was quickly interrupted by her frantic words. “Alright, alright,” he said, putting his hands up in front of him defensively. Perhaps the broom was an heirloom or…something like that. This girl certainly was strange.
He bit his lip and carefully looked back in the direction of the marketplace. The yelling seemed to have died down and it appeared that some of the crowd had dispersed. Perhaps it was safe. “Yeah, okay. Er…you’re okay to walk?” he asked, lightly taking her hand and pulling her to her feet.

Kiki felt for her bow on her head and had a puzzled expression on her face. When was the last time anyone used the word ‘garb’ to explain clothing? “I like it.” she said defensively, taking in his own clothing. To be honest, the clothing he was wearing looked a little silly to her. A loose puffy shirt and capri length pants were just something that no man would wear back home. “Is this what all people from Spain wear?” she asked, pointing to his clothing. Spain sure was a weird place, from what she had gathered so far.
Alright, so she was glad she had not been teleported to some weird planet by that crazy old lady. Miguel, what an interesting name; it must have been one of those fancy Spanish names. Kiki couldn’t help but blush a little bit when Miguel bowed. That certainly wasn’t what people did when greeting others in Japan…“My name’s Kiki. I’m visiting here from a small Japanese island called Koriko.” For hahas, she curtseyed to Miguel, but felt really silly afterwards and almost started laughing.
Kiki’s brows furrowed as his friendly demeanor quickly changed to something cautious. There was obviously a big secret here that Miguel didn’t want Kiki knowing. Seems suspicious to me. Jiji said, watching the man carefully. “Jiji, be nice! He helped us!” How? Why using him to get away from a pack of angry-looking men? Kiki sighed. “Oh, this is my cat Jiji. He’s my best friend.” He would probably think that was strange, her talking to a cat, because almost no one else could understand him.
“Yes, my broom is everything to me.” Well at the moment at least… “I’m going to need it to get back home once I’m done exploring Spain.” Kiki said as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. “So you’ll help me, right? Good.” She took his hand and got pulled back up to her feet. Alright, lets go, she said, grabbing his arm and pulling him out of the alley. She didn’t want anybody taking her broom, thinking it was just an abandoned cleaning item. That would be terrible.
Jiji hissed at Miguel as they made it out of the alley. “I don’t know what direction we went in, so you’ll have to lead us back.” Her eyes were wide, eager to find her means of transportation.

”Oh, yes, well, it’s lovely! I’ve just…never seen anything like it before,” he said, smiling and shrugging his shoulders when he realized that he may have slightly offended the girl. This day was certainly turning out more interesting than he could have possibly thought. He had his winnings safely put away in his pockets and he had met this strange, young girl. She truly did intrigue him; the last time he had come across something this interesting had to be back on the El Dorado adventure.
Miguel glanced down at his attire when the young girl questioned it. He pulled at his shirt to look at it, wondering what might be so strange about it. “Erm…well, yes I suppose so. I mean, it really does matter what sort of class you might be talking about. After all, the dukes and lords wouldn’t be wearing something like this,” he said, motioning down to his outfit,”But yes, overall with the civilians, people in the marketplace, yes, this is a common thing to wear.”
He grinned down at her when she returned his bow with a curtsy. “Kiki, hmm?” he said, rubbing his chin,”Interesting. I can’t say that I have ever heard of that name before.” Miguel was never really one to get out of Spain too much, save for the little adventure with Tulio to El Dorado, so he had no idea what Japan or Kiki’s island was or even where it was. “And where might that be in regards to Spain?” he asked, trying to place it in his mind.
Miguel raised his eyebrows slightly when the girl suddenly started speaking to her cat. He knew perfectly well what it was like to be close to one’s pet. After all, he and Altivo were as close as could be, but for some reason, this seemed a bit different. It was almost as if Kiki was carrying on a conversation with the small animal. “Oh! Pleasure to meet you, Jiji,” he said, giving a short bow towards the cat.
He had no idea how a broom would help the girl get back home, but he would, of course, help her. Miguel had developed a bit of a soft spot for children from that day when he played with the El Dorado children. Oh, they were quite adorable! To his surprise, she grabbed his hand and began pulling him out of the alley.
Miguel jumped aside a bit as the cat hissed at him. Well, then. “Right. Follow me, then!” he said, leading the way out of the alley. He lead her through several alleys and side streets before pausing right before re-entering the marketplace. “Now…do you recall where you left it?” he asked, peeking his head out of the alley to survey the marketplace.
