And somehow, she found herself here. In the jungle. No Eugene, just Pascal. She and Eugene had decided to go to this place, Africa it was called, in order to get some exotic flowers for a party back in Corona. They'd gone together in order to have some type of adventure, and it had seemed a good idea at the time. But now, she was lost. Horribly lost. And Eugene was nowhere to be found.
She probably shouldn't have gotten distracted by the cute baby gorilla that she found rolling around in some leaves. She should have at least told Eugene where she was before she ran off to chase it and play with it. Pascal had been trying to convince her to stay to the path, but she'd been too distracted to listen. Well now she'd done it. Wide-eyed, she looked around the jungle, wondering where she was and how to get back to the path she and Eugene had been following.
"Eugene....?" she called out nervously, turning in circles so as not to leave any bush unseen, any tree overlooked, just in case. Her frying pan was gripped in her hands, and the only positive thing that had come out of today so far was that Eugene let her borrow an outfit, a loose-fitting white shirt, brown pants, a vest, and a pair of boots, all too large for her, but much easier to get around in than a dress and bare feet. She felt a little silly wearing it, but she'd never sewn pants or shirts or anything before, only dresses. The excursion was a last minute thing, and she'd wanted to practice more before making herself some pants. And so here she was, looking around, utterly lost. Were there other people in this jungle? She supposed she'd find out soon enough.

”Oh, dash it all!” said Jane, brushing her bangs out of her eyes as she made her way through the jungle brush. She and her father, Professor Porter, had been studying a baby gorilla and while they were both engrossed in Jane’s drawing of it, the little thing had wandered away from them and away from the camp.
So, she was once again venturing into the jungle alone which was probably a bad idea to find the little gorilla. Honestly, it had probably wandered off to find its mother or something like that, so she needn’t worry, but…she didn’t want to do anything else to make the gorillas distrust her.
Professor Porter had stayed in the camp on Jane’s insistence. He was even more accident prone than Jane was, and that was really saying something. “Oh, he couldn’t have gone far-whoa!” she said, as she peeked between two branches, but she slipped and the branches bounced back, smacking her in the face and causing her to fall backwards into the brush.
“Oww,” she said, rubbing her back as she returned to her feet. She carefully pushed the branches back again, and this time, succeeded in walking between them to an open space in the jungle.
Jane paused in the clearing to brush some sticks out of her hair and clear off some dirt front her long, green skirt before looking up and to her surprise, she saw a young girl. She raised her eyebrows as she took in the girl’s appearance; everything on her was oversized. Interesting.
“Oh, hello!” she said, taking a step forward and stuffing her journal into her belt,"I had no idea there were other people here in the jungle!" Jane took a careful step forward, as the girl was obviously uneasy.
"I'm Jane! A-are you lost?"
ooc: I'm going to have the account be Flynn Rider, but she'll probably call him Eugene. xD

Was that... a bush rustling? There was noise, she just couldn't pinpoint where it was coming from. ...No, it was definitely that bush, or beyond it. Okay, now it was starting to move...
"Oh hello!" said a voice, and Rapunzel squeaked and jumped about a foot in the air. It was a good thing her hair was short now, though still a bit messy and choppy in style. It was much easier not to, well, trip over it when she got startled. Which was kind of a frequent thing for her. She still wasn't completely used to everything in the outside world yet. She tended to be just a little bit jumpy. Okay, really jumpy. But still.
Once she regained her composure and realized that it was just a friendly woman talking to her, she felt a bit better. Was this a jungle woman or something? Did she live here? She was very pretty, and was wearing much more jungle-appropriate clothes that actually fit her. The lady noted that she didn't know there were other people in the jungle, and Rapunzel could only give a slight, curious nod, thinking that she didn't think that there were, either, but she was definitely glad there were.
Pascal- where was Pascal? She knew he'd been on her shoulder just seconds before... maybe she'd been imagining it. Had he gone with Eugene? That was a rather rare thing, but maybe. She looked around for a moment, but her little chameleon friend was nowhere to be found. Huh. Strange.
Oh well, back to paying attention to the woman. Rapunzel smiled when she introduced herself- Jane, that was a nice name! She'd never heard it before. "My name is Rapunzel." she said cheerily, and then nodded a bit sheepishly when Jane asked her if she was lost. "Yeah...." her tone was just as sheepish as her expression, and she twirled her frying pan absentmindedly in her hand. They really were such useful utensils!

Jane’s eyes wandered down the girl as she took in the girl’s outfit. The clothes certainly didn’t seem like something a young girl would probably be wearing, but…she probably wasn’t one to judge. She glanced down at her own outfit and while the clothes did fit her, they were definitely very worn.
Oh, perhaps one of those traveling merchants would happen on this little island sometime soon and Jane would be able to get some new clothes. Or at least some fabric and sewing utensils to fix up her current clothes. Anyway. Even if the clothes the girl was wearing were the clothes that Jane deemed proper for a young lady, the clothes were way too big for her.
“Rapunzel? Really?” asked Jane gasping as she put her hand to her chest,”Oh, that reminds me of that fairytale that Daddy used to read to me when I was just a child. That was back in England, of course. Have you read that fairytale? I used to be so jealous of the princess in the story because she supposedly had the most luscious long blonde hair” She grabbed some of the medium-length chestnut hair and looked at it. “My hair has grown on me, I suppose,” she said, before laughing at her accidental pun.
Jane snapped to action when she saw the sheepish look on Rapunzel’s face. She moved forward and placed her arm around the younger girl’s shoulders. “Now then, no need to fret,” she said, giving the girl a light squeeze. She took one last glance around the surrounding jungle to see if she could see the baby gorilla…but no luck.
"Let's just go back to the camp, shall we?" she asked, steering Rapunzel in the direction back towards the camp.
