for those of you poor, unfortunate souls who may not have seen the nightmare before christmas, barrel is one of the three children shown above (the one on the far left, obviously. xP). of course, in halloweentown, everything takes a turn for the scary- including the kids. not only did these three kidnap santa claus, but they also had every intention of doing all sorts of nasty things to not-so-jolly ol' st. nick- from ambushing him with scorpions, chopping him up, to even burying him alive. luckily, they didn't go through with their plans on account of both their boss wanting to eat santa, and a certain hero ruining their fun. D,: then again, in halloweentown, dying isn't anything to worry about, so they see these all as acceptable activities and all in good fun. although barrel is the youngest of the trio, he's also the smartest- and for this made fun of by shock and lock. he likes pranking people (though that usually means putting them in mortal danger) and generally doing dirty work as a henchman in return for candy. also, he's probably actually dead, himself...or undead...living dead...whatever, on account of him probably not being human. (plus, lock's costume is actually real, so what's not to say he's some skeleton-boy?) all in all, he's probably the most chaotic and ill-behaved little kid you're going to meet in your life.
