The capitol—palace—you know what I mean! Okay so Finland was going to come up again later in the post so for the sake of the goddamn thread progression we’re going to say that Vlad smirked at Dimitri’s comment and did not bring anything else up about Finland. Dimitri was terrible at hiding how amused he was but you couldn’t really blame him because Vlad was an amusing guy. Okay I’m going to stop being obnoxious now. It was true though, if Dimitri broke his leg or something obviously Vlad would be stuck carrying him over his shoulder. There was no other option. They sort of needed to be mobile and that couldn’t be limited and Vlad wasn’t going to leave the kid on the ground—or roof yanno whichever. Very funny. People don’t get shorter. ”People also don’t tend to get attacked by furniture as often as you do so I don’t really know where you’re getting that statistic.” Okay now I can’t even tell what you’re actually joking about! Vlad grinned. He’d had his fun. ”I’ll control myself. But you deserved sixty percent of it.” They were kind of in a stressful situation and if you’ve ever read a Phips/Tilly thread you know that one very common way to handle stress with characters who are amazing is sarcasm. It kept them focused on something more pleasant than, oh, I don’t know, the angry mobs or people with weapons who didn’t like Dimitri. It was a good time for sarcasm. Despite the further and completely expected obnoxiousness, Vlad was serious when he thanked the kid and for a few seconds he actually believed that they’d gotten on the roof that would help them get to where they needed to go. Instead, they sort of ran into a little problem. Hey Vlad—I think it’s a good time for a chance. Vlad’s eyes followed where Dimitri was pointing. Officers had seen them. Great. Before he knew it Dimitri was running and jumping across buildings. ”Dimit—“ he started to yell at the kid but he was already over there and not dead so cool. Come on! ”Are you crazy?!” Vlad quickly looked back behind him before turning and running (he wasn’t thrilled with the idea but he figured doing it before he had much time to think about it was best). He jumped and landed, catching himself with his hands. He quickly got to his feet and then they were moving…in the opposite direction that the map directed. They had plenty of time considering moving for the officers wasn’t going to be much easier from the ground, but they still didn’t have much time to think about where they were going. At one point they couldn’t go any further in that direction and Dimitri threw shit at people and now they really couldn’t get caught because if they did they’d be in a lot of trouble. Vlad was shoved and told to lead and he knew better than to object. He quickly looked around before his eyes caught a door, laying horizontally, on top of a roof near them. ”C’mon.” He jumped back onto the roof they’d just been on (hoping that that wasn’t going to become a habit because despite their success so far there was still a lot that could go wrong with that) and ran toward it. It was old and hadn’t been touched in a while (as many of the buildings in the area were) and the door was held shut pretty tightly by rust. He started pulling on the handle bar across it, glancing over at Dimitri. ”Gimme a hand?” [/size]

“For the sake of goddamn thread progression” I’m not supposed to be talking about Finland right now. But seriously… that’s funny. I mean, think about the obnoxious person on the other end of the post for a second. There ya go. ”People also don’t tend to get attacked by furniture as often as you do so I don’t really know where you’re getting that statistic.” ”It’s not my fault the furniture here’s got some kind of a vendetta. Maybe the ones in Finland will know how to behave.” Told you the Finland mentioning was going to happen. I mean, at least Vlad acknowledged that it was the furniture’s fault and not Dimitri’s (which was obviously the case here). Obviously they could not simply get where they were going without problems because, in the words of a certain Tilly character, doing so was no fun at all. ”Dimir-“ Yeup, too late for that. Dimitri had known better than to give Vlad a warning as to what he was doing because Vlad would ahgve made sure he never got to do it. ”Are you crazy!?” Ha. That was funny. ”No! The crazy people are the ones down there!” Seriously, Vlad, get with the program. They just talked about this. The two of them were the only sane ones in the country. That was why they were going to rule Finland. Dimitri hung around the end until Vlad made it over (although he had plenty of faith in his friend because if Dimitri could get over without killing himself Vlad shouldn’t have any problems). The roof jumping and hiding continued for a little bit before Vlad took over and got an idea how to get them out of there. Dimitri followed him back to another old building and a sideways door which, again, was probably last used in the middle ages. ”Gimme a hand?” ”Implying I’m useful twice in a row? What is this? Are you feeling okay?” Oh yeah, Phips and Tilly characters were just great in stressful situations. Dimiti grabbed onto the other side of the handle bar and pulled along with Vlad, although that wasn’t very effective so he switched to prying the actual door (yanno, like how you open a locker with a backpack strap stuck in it when you have two people and don’t have a hammer) The door finally opened up and there was no screaming which meant the room was probably empty (that was good- anything else would have been very awkward) ”I’ll go first,” he said, kind of like a question, before lowering himself in until he found the floor. ”Well, this looks familiar” he noted with amusement, looking around the small, unlit, dusty attack. ”I wonder if there’s an IOU-A-Treasure note in here too.” Hey, maybe they could start a collection. Maybe the ones in Finland will know how to behave. Vlad grinned. ”You’re the one who needs to learn how to behave. Learning how not to get crushed by furniture would be a good start.” He couldn’t just put all the blame on the furniture I mean if some obnoxious kid jumped on me I’d fall over too. He deserved it with how crazy he was being. Jumping across roofs was not the best idea he’d had. The crazy people are the ones down there! ”Yup, you’re crazy.” They both managed to survive long enough for Vlad to see another way out. He had to hand it to Dimitri—the kid was more than keeping up. He knew he could trust him to keep moving even if he liked to be a daredevil sometimes. When Dimitri helped pull on the door, they were able to figure out how to get it open. Implying I’m useful twice in a row? What is this? Are you feeling okay? Vlad laughed and rolled his eyes. ”Not the time.” When Dimitri started lowering himself into the room, Vlad tightly gripped one of his arms until he knew that the floor wasn’t a long way down. He then lowered himself in, looking around. Dimitri was right—it was very familiar. ”I’m starting to think people around here abandon buildings for fun.” He walked toward the door—it was dark. The building looked completely empty. ”If we wanna find the treasure, we should get out of here. I bet we can find a back door out or something, if you can get down a bunch of staircases without dying,” he added with a smirk, lightly shoving Mr. No Attention Span toward the door.

"You're the one who needs to learn how to behave. Learning how not to get crushed by furniture would be a good start." "You're taking its side?!" Whoa, whoa Vlad.. That was betrayal. I mean, even when it was Dimitri's fault he was supposed to take Dimitri's side and the furniture's inability to do its job (which was obviously being climbed on by a nosy kid) was most definitely a fault of Dimitri. "Yup, you're crazy." He glanced back at Vlad as they ran across the rooftop. "Fine but I'm also not trying to kill us so can we please hurry up?" The managed to find somewhere they could hide (or at the very least get slightly closer to the ground so they would have options that didn’t risk turning into a pancake) "Not the time" "You're only saying that because you don't have a good comeback." Dimitri was actually having too much fun with this. After lowering himself in he waited for Vlad before looking around some more. "I'm starting to think people abandon buildings for fun." It sure did seem to be a common occurrence. "Maybe we should just think about going into real estate." It seemed a lot easier than all this running around looking for treasure and smuggling shit out of the palace. They could just pretend they owned the buildings and collect money for them. It was foolproof. Totally. As much as Dimitri wanted to snoop around the building for another note Vlad was doing a good job keeping them focused on the treasure they were already looking for. " I bet we can find a back door out or something, if you can get down a bunch of staircases without dying." Ha ha Dimitri responded, sounding very unamused as he was shoved towards the door. He opened it up and just as Vlad predicted there were still a good number of stairs separating them from the ground, and streets which were still full of people. "You know if it wasn't for them we'd have the treasure by now." he pointed out, clearly irritated. "Can't they all go home or something? Or down the street.. Or to Findland… Or anywhere that isn't here."
