Miguel peeked out of the chest he was hiding in to find the the workers on the ship seemed to have cleared out a little bit. He had gotten separated from Tulio while they were running away from some of the castle guards, but he would meet up with him at the meeting spot. Miguel oh so carefully climbed out of the chest.
"Hey! You! Get back to work!"
He spun around to see a very large man glaring at him. "Oh, right away, sir!" he said with a bow before going over to where a net was being pulled onto the ship. To his surprise, right as he reached it, there was an extremely large fish that appeared, caught in the net.
Miguel paused to rub his eyes before he walked forward. "My word!" he said, kneeling down, but before he could do anything else, he heard footsteps coming towards him. His mind started racing him. Part of him wanted to keep the creature aboard to sell ask it questions, but the moral part of him had something else in mind. Without another thought, he picked up the creature and flung it back into the ocean.
He busied himself with collecting the normal fish that had appeared in the net, so as not to attract more attention to himself. Not much later, though, while all of the workers were busy with their jobs, two other creatures like the one he had seen earlier appear out of the water and grabbed Miguel, pulling him down under the ocean.
Miguel's struggling was useless against the muscular creatures and before he knew what was happening, they stuff what appeared to be a glowing leaf into his mouth. He very quickly found out that this somehow allowed him to breathe underwater. As they got further down, Miguel took in his surroundings, which appeared to be some sort of underwater town, village, country?
His captors tossed him into what appeared to be a jail made out of coral and one of them said,"You will pay for what you have done."
This left Miguel feeling extremely confused, but instead of worrying decided to admire the beauty of this underwater country.

It was a quiet day at the palace; there were no issues in the area and nothing to attend to. Ariel found herself without a thing to do, and bored to tears. Walking outside, she wandered and took in the beautiful nature around her home. The beautiful beach, especially, and the waters that held her homeland, had her entranced. She watched the water lapping upon the shore and suddenly missed her home-and her family. Although she had the power to go back into the ocean, she rarely did so, because it worried Eric, and by worrying Eric, it made Ariel feel guilty.
Sometimes the ocean just called to her and she could not ignore it. Other than Eric, the most important people of her life were still in Atlantica, and it was only natural to want to go back and see them every once in awhile. Which seemed to be exactly what she was doing as she shed her clothes and dived into the crystal blue water, almost instantly turning back into mermaid form. Green scaled tail and purple shell bra later, Ariel easily swam further and further down into the depths of the ocean, searching for...
Atlantica. In minutes, it was there before her. Mermaids swam all around her; some knew her and said hi, and some others she did not recognize. Ariel said hello to everyone she knew and even made small talk, being her usual amiable self, before entering her father's palace. What she saw, however, was not what she expected.
Aquata was sitting in one corner, Ariel's sisters and father trying to comfort her while King Triton also tried to solve whatever was going on. He looked flustered- mad even- at the situation that was going on. "Hello Daddy." she said, swimming in. "What's wrong?" Ariel asked, concerned for her upset sister.
A fisherman caught Aquata up in his net. To think she could have been sold, taken away...killed! Aquata started crying harder at such thoughts. "Perhaps he didn't mean to catch Aquata. I'm sure it was an accident." Ariel said, thinking rationally. Almost no one knew mermaids truly exsisted, so the chances of a fisherman knowing about their type was slim to none. "May I talk to him?" she asked politely. I suppose. Darn humans, they just... Ariel had thought she had ended most of his distrust and disliking towards humans, but apparently not completely.
She made her way to where prisoners were held, a coral reef area that served as an effective cell. She approached the human with great curiosity as to what exactly happened. "Hello, my name is Ariel." she said, introducing herself to the blonde man. "And yours?" Ariel sat upon the sandy bottom of the ocean floor and played with the ends of her hair.

After Miguel had been looking out of his cell for a few moments, he got bored and returned to the corner of the cell, as there was really just a small bit of the outside country he could see. The rest of his vision was obstructed by a wall of blue coral.
Shrugging, he pulled his mandolin off of his back, curious what it would sound like underwater. Besides that, he really didn’t have anything else to do, so he began to strum and to his surprise, found that not only was it easier to play underwater, but the sound was also much better.
“Interesting!” he said, looking at the instrument, intrigued. Just as Miguel was about to continue playing, he heard a voice. After looking up and around, a flash of bright red hair caught his attention. “Oh! Oh, hello there,” he said, attaching his mandolin to his back once again. He moved over to the…girl…with some difficulty, as he didn’t have the tail or fins to maneuver through the water properly.
“Ariel? Why that’s a lovely name. I’m Miguel,” he said, attempting to do a bow, but failed terribly. However, he quickly brushed himself off and looked down at Ariel…whatever she was “Tell me, then. Hope you don’t find this rude…forgive my curiosity, but what exactly…are you?” he asked, motioning to her tail. Miguel had several other questions he would have liked to ask, but first thing was first.
