So, what's your name?
My name's Ariel! What's yours?

Um, that's not important. So, um, where are you from?
Atlantica. A lovely underwater city that my family rules over. Although, I left there awhile ago.

Why did you leave Atlantica?
I wasn't as happy down there as I should have been. My sisters, all six of them older than me, were never very nice to me. They just didn't understand me. As for my father, I love him dearly, but he is quite a stubborn man. He didn't understand my interest for the human world...for humans themselves, and for things such as legs!

You were interested in legs?
Of course! They were so fascinating to me! As a mermaid, I never had an experience with anything like them. They seemed so absurd to me...I suppose my tail was absurd to humans as well.

You were a mermaid?
Yes! I still am, but I don't go into the ocean a lot anymore. Almost everything I need is above ground now.

Oh, really? What is your life above ground?
Amazing! I live with my husband, Eric, in his palace. I still see my friends from the ocean all the time. Life is great when I can have a bit of my ocean life and a bit of my ground life.

Oh, you're married! How did you meet your husband, Eric?
Well, this is quite a strange story! I was swimming in the ocean when I saw something going on above water. Naturally, I went to see what was going on, as anything above water absolutely fascinated me. Of course there was always something about disbelieving my father and Sebastian that drove me to do things. So, there were several humans gathered together for an event on a...ship, I believe it's called. Yes, a ship. It was there were I first laid eyes on Eric, and I completely fell it love. Oh, it was such a magical experience for me! I knew I would not ever be able to forget about him. Sadly for him, a storm came and the ship was destroyed, sending Eric out in the ocean, completely vulnerable. I had to save him. I brought him back to shore and sang to him, but left before he saw me...

What a fascinating story! But if you left, how did you two see each other again?
-sigh- I made a terrible mistake in trying to find him again. There was this one mermaid, she had magical powers, and her name was Ursula. She was actually my aunt...She said she'd give me three days of being a human, with legs and everything, if I gave her my voice for those three days. If I didn't kiss Eric in those three days, I would be a mermaid again and I would be a slave to Ursula. How foolish I was, but I decided to anyway. Love had blinded me and well, muted me as well. So I went on land as a human, thrilled that I finally was a human, even if it may have only been for a few days. Eric found me, thinking I was just a mute shipwrecked girl, and took me in to his palace. There, without my words, I got him to love me. But...

But what?!
He did not kiss me within the three days. Ursula turned herself into a beautiful human with my voice to take away my Eric. They were to wed.

What! Oh my goodness! How did you stop this?
When I found out it was Ursula, I was terrified. Scuttle came and destroyed the wedding with other animals. Ursula's nautilus shell broke, giving me my voice back.

Is that when he realized it was you, the girl who saved him?
-smiles- Yes!

So then you two lived happily ever after?
Not quite. He did not realize soon enough...he did not kiss me before the third day was up. I turned back into a mermaid.

What did Ursula do?
She took me away, and held me prisoner. My father came to save me, taking my place. Ursula took over after that, and Atlantica was under complete chaos.

Well how was Ursula overthrown?
Eric, actually. Eric took a, um, piece of the boat, I'm not sure exactly what it was called, and -makes a stabbing motion-

With her gone, how did Atlantica get restored?
Life returned to normal. My father took rule again, all the polyps were restored to their original form.

And life with Eric?
My father realized how much I truly loved him, and turned me into a human to be with him. We got married soon after and I've been with him since.
